Northern Ireland Water — Delivering what matters

Curio Group has won a four-year service and maintenance contract with Northern Ireland Water following a competitive tender process. The agreement will see Curio deliver critical infrastructure upgrades and support across multiple water treatment sites in Northern Ireland, reinforcing its position as a trusted leader in service and maintenance of the UK’s water supply.

As part of the contract, Curio will work with Northern Ireland Water to provide comprehensive site audits, spare parts, and ongoing service and maintenance support. The company will also design, supply, install, and optimise new ozone generators Northern Ireland’s two largest Water Treatment Works — installations that play a role in the disinfection and treatment of drinking water for public supply.

The contract includes both maintenance of existing ozone systems and the installation of new equipment, forming part of a wider initiative to provide reliable, state-of-the-art water treatment processes across Northern Ireland.

Curio was invited to participate in a competitive tender process where criteria such as proven experience, technical capability, and cost efficiency were assessed. The award of this contract builds on Curio’s track record delivering cost-effective and reliable water treatment solutions following its previous work with Northern Ireland Water through the Capital Delivery Framework.

Howard Marles, CEO of Curio Group, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with Northern Ireland Water over the next four years to upgrade and maintain its water treatment infrastructure. Our ambition is to keep the company at the forefront of the latest technology and innovation in the water industry, helping them maintain high water quality standards as economically as possible.”

Sam Adams, NI Water Project Manager added:

“Curio Group has been awarded these service and maintenance contracts following a meticulous selection process. We look forward to working closely with their team to upgrade and maintain our ozone disinfection processes. We hope to benefit from the extensive knowledge and experience Curio has accumulated through working with other major UK water companies.”

The contract comes following Curio’s strategic partnership contract with German company Reinert-Ritz, granting them exclusive distribution rights in the UK and Ireland for its products covering drinking and wastewater systems.

In April, Curio launched the UK’s first micropollutant removal plants with Severn Trent Water. At the start of the year it moved operations to Cranfield University where it is currently pioneering ozone based micropollutant removal solutions in wastewater for the UK’s water industry.
